I've also been trying to connect George to my Hopper line. I am in hopes of receiving info in doing this. There is a book called the Hopper Family Tree written by my Great Aunt. Most of the info in there is correct. There are a few things I have found corrections on but not much. The line starts with John Lawson Hopper b. 1773 Virgina md. Sarah Hobbs
Son: Lawson Hopper b. Dec 5, 1802 Ga
married Melinda Fields (1 child listed, would like to know if there are more children and there names.)
Child: Goulder Fields Hopper b.Jan 26, 1833 md. Charlotte T.Robbins (2) Francis Missouri Bayne

If Lawson is George's son it would have to have been by his first wife name unknown and he would have had to been born in Tenn instead of Va. I believe there are two sets of Hoppers mixed or distant relatives. If someone can CORRECT ME OR HELP ME understand it would be great. I have found several Lawsons in my search. One in Tenn, Ky, Ga, Va, and Alabama. I do believe the Blegrave line is a different line considering our Lawson was born in 1700's Va.

There is some info on Blagrave don't know how correct it is if this is our line.
Blagrave Hopper b. 1716 d. 1768 Va.sons: George 1725-1798, Thomas 1728, Joseph 1734-1811 Fauguiar Co. Va. Joseph had: Blaggrove 1759-1831, William, Thomas, Lena, Joseph, Eliz, Mary, John, Margaret, Ann "Nancy", and Lucy by 2nd wife. Blagrove of Joseph b. 1759-1831. wife Rhoda Kesterson b. 1759. This Blaggrove has: William, Raliegh, Harrison H. Nancy, Sally, John, Dorcus and Eliz (Betsy).

I did have a response years ago can't seem to find from someone stating this was a different set of Hoppers. That Blaggrove came from England and his family did not come south. That there John went North not south. Does anyone have any strong documentation that this is our John?

If anyone has in info on Melinda Fields that would be great. I do know her sister married Aaron Harrison. His mother and father lived on a reservation in Marshall Co. Al.
Fields were there nieghbors.
