Dorothy R. (Beverly) Fisher "Dottie" left this earthly home and went to her heavenly home on July 9, 2012.
She was born in Gadsden, Alabama on January 22, 1949 to the late Charles Beverly, Sr. and the late Mary Willie Vinson.
She moved to Akron, Ohio when she was 3 and attended Akron Public Schools.
She completed cosmetology school at Washington Beauty Academy and had been a cosmetologist for 30 years. She also received her STNA license and worked as a nursing assistant for many years.
At age 12, she met Earl Fisher who later became the love of her life and they were married December 12, 1998.
She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist church for over 20 years. She was a "sharp" dresser and loved her Sunday hats. She also loved shopping and dining out with her sister Sandra Woodard and the crew. Surely we have all been brushed by her feisty ways but even still knowing the true Dorothy you had to love her and never had to wonder what was on her mind.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Columbus Sr. and Adell Vinson; son, DeAngelo Beverly; two sisters and two brothers.
She leaves to celebrate her life, homegoing, her legacy, husband, Earl Fisher; daughter, Delissa (Mac) Portis; son, Delacy Beverly, all of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Charlie Mae Jones, Sandra Woodard, Annette (David) McGhee, Jeanette Watson, Sandra "Sissy" Vinson, all of Akron, Ohio, Mary Joe Phillips, Charlene Beverly, Sharlette Beverly, all of New York, New York; brothers, Willie Fred Beverly of New York, New York, and Phillip Hughes of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Paul and Constance Beverly; great-grandchildren, Denerio, Janese and Autumn Beverly; her special baby, Jashawn "JJ" Woodard; stepmother, Mattie Beverly of New York, New York, "Aun-T" Audrey Vinson of Akron, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
