Anyone interested in Coats Bend, Alabama should read "The Talented Miss Highsmith" by Joan Schenkar. Pat Highsmith was a famous arthor. Her family background comes from Coates Bend, Alabama. The book is an eye-opener. Start on page 72 for the references on Coats Bend.
