Can anyone tell me where Butler Cemetery is located in the city of Boaz or Gadsen. Several of my relatives are buried there.

According to the book "Little Known Burial Sites and Cemeteries", by W. A. Lewis, the cemetery is located on the E side of Lookout MT, seven miles or so northeast of Gaston High School. Travel Northeast from the HS for 6.1 miles and turn left onto Owl Hollow Rd. Go, 0.9 miles and turn right onto Shinbone Ridge Rd. Travel 0.4 mile to a mail box of W. B. Money. Bear left, then turn levt onto the drive-way traveling a short distance to the Old Tag Railroad road bed. Turn right on it and travel past the next house to where an old road is on the left. the cemetery is probably a 100 feet, as the crow flies, on the side of the mountain. Mr. Roy A. Glenn, who lives on Owls Hollow Road, and rhe writer, Mr. W. A. Lewis, may be the only two people who can locate the cemetery in 1994.

It was originally in Cherokee Co., but I believe in Etowah Co., AL now.

There is a Butler Church and Cemetery shown on the USGS list of of Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) In the corner of Etowah County near Boaz. The location is given as Lat 34 degrees 06 minutes 10 seconds North and Long -086 degrees 06 minutes and 58 seconds West. From Gadsden take US #431 toward Boaz, when you reach the top of the mountain at Rockledge slow down, you are almost there. The church and cemetery is within a mile of the top of the mountain at Rockledge. The roads are not named on my map but Butler Church and Cemetery is on the Left (WEST) side of #431 and about 1/4 mile on a parallel road. So directions would be to take any of the roads to the left after passing Rockledge then turn right and go NORTH on a road parallel to #431. If you again return to #431, turn around you have gone too far.
If you have a GPS receiver the coordinates I gave are the center of the cemetery. But you may need to ask directions in the area otherwise. Do not go more than one mile from Rockledge.

I used to live in Boaz and I think the name of the road is Rockledge road.
