We would like to trace family lines in or around Escambia Co., if any of you can help us. In 1862 or 1872 THOMAS S. MADDOX was was born just out side of Brewton. He had 12 sib;ings. The brothers were name YANCEY, MILTON, JAMES, SILAS and WALKER. We are not sure of the sisters' names but there was a MAUDE, and a KATE. Others are listed as Will Barrow's wife, Aunt Sis Holladay, and Ed Lynn's wife. Still missing two names. The parents of this brood were SILAS G. MADDOX and ELIZABETH SNOWDEN, probably married 1840 - 1850.
We believe that Thomas Maddox's wife BEATRICE STILL was also from the Escambia Co area. Her grandparents were WILLIS MAYO and wife LAUREL /?/ and their daughter MARY MAYO married JOHN STILL.
