Correction: Elizabeth Snowden, dau of James Snowden, Sr. and Mildred Kennedy Coleman Snowden was married to Silas Gaines Maddox,son of Thomas Milton Maddox and Wealthy Ann Archelaus/Archilles, not T. S. Maddox. This error comes from the information in the book by Mrs Annie C. Waters on the History and Genealogy of Escambia Co. Al. The information was given to Miss Annie by Alma, a dau. of Yancy Maddox who was a brother to Silas. When I personally brought this error to Alma's attention she said "Oh, my goodness you are right. How did I ever make this mistake." The T. S. Maddox she was referring to was Thomas Sumpter Maddox a son of Silas Gaines Maddox. By this time Mrs Waters had died about three years before. I took a corrected copy to the librarian in Brewton and asked her to insert it in Miss Annie's book but I do not know the results. If anyone wishes to contact me my e-mail is dclowery@nckcn.com
