George Whitten and Sally SLATON Whitten were my great great grandparents. My line goes from them to William Perry Jackson Whitten and Cynthia MORRIS Whitten, then to my grandmother Lilly Alice WHITTEN and William Dunn on to my parents Mary DUNN and Charles Montgomery.

I am very interested in your research. How were your Henry Whitten and Mary Whitten related to Georged and Sally?

Looking thru your info that I could see, I noticed connections to Huntsville, AL. I still live about 10 miles from Huntsville.

The info I have on David Odell West is date of birth 10-20-1886 or an alternate date of birth as 9-10-1884. Date of death 9-26-1919. Married to Martha Janey Skelton 4-14-1905.
Martha Janey's date of birth 3-28-1885. They are the parents of Ermia Talitha West born 10-9-1910 married to Lucian Raymond Yarbrough 12-11-1925.

Actually, I am not really researching Kilgore or Kilgro. They are married into my family and I have copies of the cemetery information as to where they are buried because my family is also buried at the same cemetery.

Wasn't sure if you had the information and wanted to offer it to you if you needed it.

The families I am researhing are Goff, Speegle (var splgs), O'Bryant. Predominantly from Cullman and Sheffield by way of Georgia, virginia and Tennessee.

My sister and I are the grandaughters of W.B. Rodgers, our dad was Arbie. We have just started our quest so any info you could give us would be so appreciated. We think Thomas Jefferson Rodgers was our great uncle. We are also interested in any photos you might have of any of the Rodgers family. Curious about Garden City Grade School. Went there early 1940's and have some photos of fellow students (actually have a photo of the school band which I was in - 1st grade) I vaguely remember a few family names and a grocery store/gas station and not much else. I remember my 1st and 2nd grade teacher was a Mrs. Dean and Mrs. Howell (also have a picture of her). Any memories out there besides mine?

I am looking for any info on Chandler family who had son Jack E. Chandler on Feb 15 1926 in Cullman Cty. Don't know who his parents were, didn't find him there in 1930 census. I hope someone there can help me out. Thank you.

buried in Cullman City Cemetery Cullman County are George Herfurth, Fredericka and husband Moritz, Jacob, and Adolph H. You need to contact Wallace State College in Hanceville, Alabama. The college has a Genealogy Department that I believe would be helpful to you.

the 1910 and 1920 franklin, alabama keeps popping up for some reason

the ssdi gives your Willliam Clark as being born 11/08/1906, death june 1974- cullman, ala.
the 1910-1920 russselville, franklin co. ala. keeps me thinking this is your William. Even though there is a 7 yr gap of your 1899. The ssdi. gives him as birth as 1906 which lines up with this Wm.
yet...the name of the mother is Lillian, not Laura.

Your william is not the son of Robert M. Clark and wife Lillian.

1910 shows a William. son.. born 1907
the same goes for the 1920 census.. still showing 1907 for this William's date of birth.

First off.. when I found Mary Lou's parents names, I had to look again... then found someone had even made notes on the unusal name of her mother

Never in all the years of my doing census research, have I have come across Issac for a woman's name.
guess her parents were so sure they were having a boy, and never bothered to come up with a boy's name.

I know it's been awhile since you posted this query, but I just saw it. I can tell you about the Legg/Adams/Mann connection. My mother was Jackie Legg du of Margret Grace Mann and Reno Griffin Legg. My mom married Lawton Francis Adams son of Crozier Adams and Katherine Skipper.

My Son, William john Clark (Dec 8, 1972), is the son of Robert Mason Clark, III.

Robert was born Sep 14, 1940. Robert is the oldest.
I do not have the dates for Ronnie or Sherry. They were all born in Alabama. Ronnie passed away some time ago.

Their father was William Clark and he named his 1st son either after a brother or his father. I believe it was his father who was Robert Mason Clark, II. Not sure.

William Clark died around 1973 in Cullman, Alabama. I don't think he ever remarried after him and Frances divorced. I know she went to Fairhope, Alabama & she passed away in the 1990s.

The only other thing I can remember about him, is that when we wrote, we sent the letters to his sister, Mrs. T.J. Ezkiel.

At the cemetery on the day of his funeral I remember seeing two specific headstones. 1 said Robert Mason Clark (can't remember if it was Robert Mason Clark, I or the II) and the other headstone was for was his wife, Laura.
I remember it because it spooked me. My first name is Laura.

I have contacted Robert Mason Clark, IIi & invited him as a contributor on my Clark family tree. He has accepted, but his memory is limited

Hope some of this helps you & me both.

I really want to put this tree together for my grandson, Jonathan.

William Clark born 1899 died 1973 in Cullman, Alabama. I think his father was
Robert Mason Clark, II.
William's wife was Frances Powers, she died in 1991 in Fairhope, Alabama.

They had 2 sons Robert Mason,III and Ronnie. They also had a daughter, Sherry.

They were divorced.

and am so excited--I believe your info is part of a missing link to my family

my g grandfather was Levi Hudson Tilley (married to Katie E Adams). I am his daughter's (Nellie Bertha) grandaughter

my gg grandparents were George Ausborn/Osborn Tilley and Charity Foster (my mom has said that she thought my granny told her that Charity was Cherokee--but haven't been able to confirm that. Although recently came across a marriage document at ancestry .com for an Ausborn and Charity in NC
which leads me to suspect that maybe she was from the rez in NC--not sure)

would love to talk with you and exchange notes!

Do you have a picture of A. J. Turner? I have an old picture that belonged to my gggrand father William Turner brother to Littleberry Turner and John F. Turner, and James Turner from ALA. His father was John Turner, but not the Legislator John. My John Turner was born in SC, and came to Gwinette Co. GA, I think he must have died there because Sarah his widow is listed incensus, with the children. My William Turner was born in 1825 in SC. The Picture has 3 Turner Men on the back it has A. G. Turner, J. F. Turner, and A. J. Turner, they are all dressed in suit coats.

And, to add another long "lost" cousin to this list, (though I don't know much of the Adams side) my grandfather's mother-- my great grandmother-- was Sophia Marie (Mae) Adams White, daughter of John Adams (Crozier's brother).

Also, in my notes (and you all may have this, but) I have a reminder that "A photo appearing in the Cullman Times on October 4, 1998, page 6A, contained the following information along with a photo of the siblings. This photo of the Adams family reunion was taken Aug. 23, 1958 at Sportsman Lake Park. This was the first time some of the brothers and sisters had seen each other in 38 years. They were the children from the late Thomas Franklin and C.E. RoundTree Adams. They lived in the Holmes Gap area of Vinemont. Pictured from left in the front row: Rosie Stager, Omie Pope, Jessica Carnes, Lorie Morgan, Lizzie Elliot; back row: Willia Adams, Shady Adams, Crozier Adams, John Adams, and Bunch Adams."

Ben Pugh is buried in a cemetery behind MT. Hope in Walker county, His parents also is buried there. Thomas K Pugh and Mary. Some think Mary's maiden name was Kemp. But I don't know.

I am trying locate any members of the Shannon family that live or have had family to live in Cullman.

My great grandfather was Wiley Jackson Shannon born 2-11-1867 in Hanceville, Al. He died 7-2-1948 in Cullman, Alabama. He had 2 sons. One of the sons was my grandfather, Herbert Lee Shannon born 7-11-1892 in Cullman, Al and died 11-12-1948 in Outwood, KY.

I don't know any of the ancestors before Wiley, but I would like find other relatives.
