I'm looking for any information on a family named HERFURTH which moved to Cullman with other Cincinnati German-descent people about 1880. They were Morris/Moritz and wife Fredericka/Freda. My interest particularly is in their son John who was a long time theater scenic painter in Cincinnati, even after they had moved. I have tried to contact the Cullman County Museum, but the e-mail bounces. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. If there was a theater building in early Cullman, John HERFURTH may have provided curtain, scenery, etc.

In the Cullman County Heritage Book, there is an article on a Frederick Moritz Herfurth 1829-1892. If you will e-mail me I will send this to you. ROW71781@aol.com. This article states that Frederick second wife was Fredericka.

buried in Cullman City Cemetery Cullman County are George Herfurth, Fredericka and husband Moritz, Jacob, and Adolph H. You need to contact Wallace State College in Hanceville, Alabama. The college has a Genealogy Department that I believe would be helpful to you.

I'm very interested in the article you mentioned on Herfurth. Not using my home computer, it's being repaired. Hope to connect with you shortly.
