Does anybody know anything about the family of Mary Elizabeth Dixon and John W. McCall of Covington County or Crenshaw County or close by? I am looking for info on this couple because they are listed as the parents of Minnie Elizabeth Blackshear (this is her maiden name) on her death certificate. Minnie Elizabeth Blackshear was supposedly orphaned and raised by a couple, possibly relatives. I assume the Dixon and McCall couple were the people who raised her as her maiden name was different from theirs. Minnie Elizabeth Blackshear was born in 1869, so this couple would have married and had children (if they had children) sometime in the 1850's - 1870's most likely, or sometime about that time. Any information would be greatly appreciated - such as where they lived, when they married, names of children, their relationship to Minnie Elizabeth Blackshear, where this couple is buried - anything at all would be a great help.

I have run into the same problem with Minnie Elizabeth and wondered if you have found any other info on her.
Minnie Blackshear married 16 Feb 1890 to James Elmore in Crenshaw Co. AL. Both Minnie & James Elmore are buried in Good Hope Cemetery, Covington CoALL.
One of their daughters, Donna Lavonia married Burie Etheridge, my grandmother's brother.
