Surnames: Nelson, Nowling, Baines, Morrow
I just recently found out that my grandfather's name wasn't Emanuel/Emmanuel. It is only E.M. Nelson born March 19, 1888. He is the son of William "Duck" Nelson and Sarah Jane Morrow.
He was born in Crenshaw Co. but I don't know what town. All this time I have been looking for Emanuel. Even though that is what is on his headstone that was what everyone assumed his name was since he had the initials E.M. but they didn't stand for anything. Somehow during all the years he was alive everyone just called him Mannie probably because someone else in the family had that name. But my cousin remembers asking her father, E.M.'s son Esker, what the E.M. stood for, and he told her they didn't stand for anything. So if this is familiar to anyone please let me hear from you. Thanks, Linda

. Thanks, Linda
