My Grandfather, Elijah Monroe McCURLEY, and Carrie Ann Lasiter, daughter of Epheram Lasiter & Jimima Donaldson, were born in Crenshaw Co., AL.
They were also married there and lived in Crenshaw Co. About seven of their sons were born, leaving there to
settle in Walton Co., FL. after 1905 and before 1908.
Elijah Monroe was a farmer and Primitive Baptist congregational preacher. They lived near Brantley, along the Three Notch trail. The Lassiter family and McCurley families were neighbors. Two brothers married sisters.
