MANSFIELD: Willie "James" Johnson, April 15, 1937 - December 10, 2011 (74), of Mansfield, Ohio passed away peacefully at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio following a short illness.

James was born to the late Ephron and Rosie Mae (Feagin) Johnson in Andalusia, Alabama.

He was one of eight siblings and the beloved husband of his loving, devoted wife, Helen (Walker) Johnson, for over 54 years.
He was resided in Mansfield for 59 years, had been employed at Humphries for 23 years as a machine operator, and had retired from General Motors after 27 years of service.

James will forever be remembered by his beloved children, Sandra (John) Bentley from Mansfield, Vanessa (Leroy) Butler of Mansfield, Warren (Teresa) Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida, Corey (Angie) Johnson of Shelbyville, Indiana, Luada Todd of Mansfield, and Bobby Black of Memphis, Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two loving sisters, Cleaster (Eddie) Rayner of Mansfield and Minnie (George) Norris of Columbus, OH; one brother, Daniel (Irene) Johnson; a special "brother", Parker (Clasy) Jackson of Mansfield; one aunt, Neter Pearl (Feagin) Brooks of Mansfield; special cousins, Ben Williams, Elder Aaron Williams, and Lawrence Feagin; a host of nieces and nephews; and other family and friends whom were blessed to know him.

James loved cooking and eating (fish, baked chicken, etc.), enjoyed being with his family. His biggest joy came from his grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom he loved to spend time with.
He enjoyed listening to music (blues), laughing and hanging out with his friends.

James touched the lives of many people. He was a proud, hardworking man, who took care of his family.

James was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyn Hawthorne, Sarah Johnson, and Mary Cheatham; one brother, Frennie Ray Johnson; and one son-in-law, Carlos Todd.

Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Maddox Memorial COGIC, 1148 Walker Lake Road, Mansfield.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Aaron Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
A repass will follow at UAW #549, W. 4th Street, Mansfield.

Friends may be received anytime at James' home, 602 Bowman Street, Mansfield, OH.
