My husband's 2nd great grandfather, John Milton Collins, was a 2nd Lietenant and Acting Adjutant, Co. A, 46th Alabama Regiment. It was said by Rev. George E. Brewer that he was a "gallant and efficient officer in the Alabama Calvary". He was severly wounded at Vicksburg, Mississippi.

He is buried in Sykes Mill, Elmore County, Alabama. I haven't found his grave.
