I am trying to verify a date of marriage between James A. Taylor to Emily or Caroline Duke(s) in Conecuh County in 1845 or 1846 approx. She or they were the daughters of John M.Duke(s) listed in the 1850 Conecuh County census. Apparently Conecuh County marriage records only go back to 1866. James Taylor was in the 1840 Monroe County census and by 1850 was listed with wife Emily in the 1850 Carroll County, MS census and later in Leake County, MS in 1860. It is thought that the John M. Dukes in the 1850 Conecuh County census could be a brother to Adam Dukes in the same census. Any help would be appreciated.
