The Duke side of my family is from Clarke County. William is my gggrandfather. He was married to Lucinda Henley. Their son James (Jim) Duke who married Henrietta Minerva Gates is the line I'm from. I'm actually visiting my great aunt in Grove Hill next month. She is 84 and barely remembers her grandfather Jim but does remember Henrietta. My aunt's father was Ira Willard Duke.

Hardyman (Hardiman/Hardeman) is William's father. Let me know if you have any other information. I haven't personally found any census/land/property records to validate my findings so anywhere you can point me on official records for Hardiman would be appreciated.
