I am looking for more information on a Zedekiah Thompson who was born about 1804 in either South Carolina or North Carolina. I have seen some researchers say that he married Mary Lee or a Mary Collier, but I have not seen any evidence to substantiate either claim. I know that he had a daughter named Mary Elizabeth, who was born about 1829 in Conecuh County. I believe she may have been his eldest child, but I am not positive. She married a man by the last name of Brantley. I know he also had a son named William, who was born about 1830 in Conecuh County, and married Mary Ann Gary (daughter of Archibald Gary and Rebecca Rabb).

I have found him in the 1840 and 1850 Census records for Conecuh County; also in the Mortality Schedules for Conecuh County in year 1860. There is also a Zedekiah Thompson in the 1850 Non-Population Schedule, but he is in Coffee County, Alabama. However, there are also other men listed in this record in Coffee County, that are also from Conecuh County, such as A.B. Autrey, Harris Brantley, and George Autrey.

I know it will be pretty difficult to prove parentage once you get to the 1840 and earlier census records, but I am wanting to find who his parents might have been. Any information on this man, or any advice on how to continue the search from here, will be greatly appreciated!
