Everertt Family in Clarke County around 1818 -

Classification: Query
Surnames: everett or Everette or possibly Averitt
I am a descendant from the Everett family that settled in Clarke Co around 1818. At least I am fairly certain about some family members. My great grandfather is James Monroe Everett, b 1864 in Finchburg, Monroe, AL d 1942 same place, married to Henritta Jane Tuberville, b 1869-1945 of Monroe Co. I believe his father was a John Everett b abt 1814 - 1865 born in AL married Nancy Ann Henderson b abt 1829 in Clarke Co. I believe John's father to be Ray Everett b abt 1792 in N.C. the censuses tell me Ray and John and a James lived here for years very close in proximity and purchased land. Ray died in Clarke Co abt 1859. After his death I see John show up in 1860 census in Monroe co. I am in hopes someone has info I can use as a lead to possibly link him to brothers/sisters and possibly parents and the family roots in N.C. somewhere. I believe Ray to possibly be a middle name-maybe James as first name. Not sure if Ray was part of the group -Everetts that left N.C. late 1700s early 1800s that some stopped off in GA and some stopped in Washington Co, Al which was later split into Mobile area and Mississippi. I think he was, but just not sure which brother he came from. Also, Not sure if the county lines back in the early 1800s may be a factor. any help, leads, information is greatly appreciated. thanks so much to all. Donna
