Bluffton, Al--. Cherokee County. In the 1900 time period a man by the name of Garmon operated or owned a general store located in Bluffton.

If anyone has information, on the Garmon man or store, Please advise.

Noticed your message and was wondering....I'm doing some
look up on families from the community of Bluffton near
Piedmont. Town almost but gone...site of ore mining.
Do you have info on many of the people from that area...are
is your search center around the Garmons only.
Looking for information on Swords Mill around 1840, also
Andrew Swords, John Swords ..Swords.

My line of Garmons arrived in Bluffton about 1888, from Georgia. I have done research on the Garmon's only.

I found some information about the Garmons on the 1900, 1910, 1920 census, Tecumseh District. These should be available in the Anniston Library. Your people may be on these records.

My line of Garmons came from South Carolina into Lumpkin, Dawson, Cobb, Cherokee and Fulton Counties Georgia in the early 1800's. Some still live in these counties and some of them moved to Cherokee and Calhoun County Alabama in about 1888. Most of the Garmons living in Cherokee, Calhoun and Etowah Counties Alabama are my relatives.

I have Swords family notes as they relate to Woolf and Bruce.
Have some little information on the Swords in Cherokee County. I also have a Bluffton file but have found information hard to come by.

Mr. Woolf---I have some information on Bluffton, Al. I was born there in the 1930's. Will be glad to share anything I have.

My people moved there in 1888 from Cherokee-Cobb County Ga.area.I remember the Signal Hotel, the railroad depot, Salem Baptist Church and etc.

I have a partial list of the people buried in the Salem Cemetery.

I am trying to locate all the businesses, factories, owners and so on that was located there.

Any information will be appreciated.
