Boaz AL. I saw you post concerning the
connection with the
Pitts family. My
Rutledge family received land in
Cherokee CO. with William S. Pitts. The families each signed the others
land records verifying that they were in
Cherokee CO. before June of 1838.
Do you have records of the
Pitts family before they came to
Cherokee CO. I
have been following families that lived close to my
Rutledge line because I
can't find my Rutledges before they reached
Cherokee CO. A large number of
the families seem to have moved to AR from the Gaylesville area. I don't
have any direct relation at this time to the
Pitts family that I know of. I
have seen a number of
Pitts graves in the cemeteries around the
Oak Boweryarea of
Cherokee CO. during my visits to look for information.
