Camp Hill is in Tallapoosa County, right? Did it used to be in Chambers Co. AL? A railroad went through there, right? Still now? Anyway, a man named Grady Mackey posted the following on a MACKEY surname board over 10 years ago (and he has gotten zero replies):

"Hi! Would anyone have any information about a Si Mackey. I was told that he was stolen by Gypsies and left in a little town in Alabama by the name of Camphill, which is in Chambers County. He had sons named Morris and Grady, and a daughter named Odessa. Morris and Odessa, both deceased, had the characteristic slanted eyes. My grandfather, Grady was relatively small in stature. I'd appreciate any information. Thanks!"

I'm looking for MACKEY (MAXEY) cousins anyway because my grandfather's brother (William Rankin Abernathy) married Sarah Catherine "Sallie" MACKEY (1859-1922) in Chambers Co. AL. Some have MAXEY. Who were Sarah's parents?
