JOHNSON
Hello,
I am looking for information on the Johnson surname. There is a James B.R. Johnson and family on the 1870 Federal Census in Chambers County. His sister Mahana C. Johnson married James Guinn Yarbrough in the next County over Tallapoosa County, AL. By 1880 both of these familes moved to Bastrop County, Texas. Mahana Johnson the mother of both James B.R. Johnson and Mahana C. Johnson Yarbrough was living in the household of James Yarbrough on the 1870 census and has her age at 65. In the 1880 federal census of Bastrop County Texas it shows John B.R. Johnson instead of James B.R. Johnson. It shows both of his parents birthplace as S.C. I know they were in Georgia before AL. because Mahana C. Johnson Yarbrough and James B.R. Johnson both show their birthplace as GA. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have seem to have hit a brick wall on these Johnsons. I cant find any info on the parents except a name of Mahana Johnson. If this sounds familiar please let me know. Thanks and have fun digging up those old bones(o;
