Marsha,
You're welcome!
R. Gardner was living in the Dawson precinct of Butler Co. in 1860. This was the Georgiana/Starlington area (where many of my ancestors lived). I noticed R. Gardner was close to several families I know of who migrated to Butler Co. from Pike Co., so I looked on the Pike Co. Census of 1850, and sure enough, I found a Richard Gardner and wife Mary who seem to match.
I checked the Gardner Genforum and learned that this is Richard S. Gardner. I read messages from his descendants saying that he migrated to Red River Parish, LA.. This migration was probably in the 1870s, evidently along with some of my Lees, Burketts, Pearces, Norrises, Pughs, Rileys and others, including my gg-aunt Sally BLACK Pearce.
I hope to learn more about Richard Gardner because of his connection to my other families of interest, especially the Lees

I'll have to go back and look back at my notes that far back... My maternal gparents were White/Coleman. The White line is my connection to the Gardners (Donie was my g-grandfather White's sister) - as well as Harrisons, Parmers, McKinneys - most of them came from GA to Dale/Coffee Co in 1830-50 timeframe then into Butler Co around 1850-70 and then on to Monroe County. So I expect the Gardners may have been part of that "roving" troop and maybe they were friends/neighbors even earlier than the Donie/Uriah marriage.

On my Coleman side, I'm also in Butler Co around 1830-60, later moving to Monroe Co - and we're intermarried with the Lees, Burketts, etc. on that side.

So you and I are probably connected in several lines!
