Since the new Message Boards were launched in Dec. 2006, many of you may not know that your email address shows up as anonymous when your posting name is clicked on a message.

If you want anyone to be able to reply to your board message privately, you will need to publicize your email address by doing the following:

Register with your Username & Password at:

http://www.ancestry.com/

On the main Ancestry page click the tab in the masthead across the top of the page to ANCESTRY COMMUNITY. Next click the link to MY SITE PREFERENCES (in small print under the word STORE) and there you will find the check boxes to allow your email address to be displayed. If you have a new email address, you can also update that at the same time.

This procedure will be necessary whether you registered to use the boards at rootsweb.com or ancestry.com
