What a handsome family and you are so lucky to have photographs! It's so sad to think of those lovely children losing their parents over such a minor event as stopping to get a drink of water. In that time period people didn't know that mosquitoes caused yellow fever so that's probably why their deaths were attributed to the water. And many people died from epidemics that were caused by tainted water so it's a natural assumption. It makes one realize how precious life is and how one moment in time can change lives forever. Even though I'm not related, I always like to read about other family's stories and see their pictures.
