William Lee was my g-g-grandfather. He was a Baptist minister as was his brother Asa. By 1855 , William was in
Chilton County, but back in Barbour Co by 1860. Back in Chilton Co. by 1870. He and his family moved to Brown Co.,
Texas in 1877, where he became a Baptist missionary. He
died in 1893 Brown Co., Texas.
Family legend is that their father and mother married 1807 in Macon Ga. Their father died when some of the children were still minors, and their mother, not having the means to take care of her family, bound them out to other people. William was raised by a Rev. Moodie/Moody. After a few years of widowhood, their mother remarried a man by the name of Harden/Hardin, and moved to N.C.
Members of my family have been vainly looking for many years for the parents of this family. Any and all help will
be greatly appreciated.
