Found this in the Fayetteville observer. (Fayetteville, Tenn.) June 17, 1858:

"An old mother in Barbour County, Alabama, Sarah Benton, has children, grandchildren and great grandchildren numbering 99, she making 100; and half the family are males able to bear arms if the country were invaded."
