Internet sources indicate Moses BOWMAN (who took his Rev. War soldier's pension in 1820 in Jackson Co., GA) and got a land grant in Early Co., GA, in 1837 and was in the 1805 Georgia land lottery, died in Autauga Co., GA, in 1864 or 1866 at age 70. He was found earlier in the 1790 and 1791 Wilkes Co., GA, tax lists. However, he is not found in any of Autauga county's census records or land records in the 1840, 1850 or 1860s. Nor have I found any mention of him on the Autauga rootsweb site.
His father-in-law is Capt. William SMITH (1754-1825) who dies in Madison Co., GA, where Moses BOWMAN, Jr., also remains until his death as do several of his children (if my research is correct). Besides SMITH, associated families are DILLARDs, LAWS, FAIRCHILDs and DYERs.
Has anyone heard of Moses BOWMAN, Sr. in Autauga County or elsewhere? Thanks in advance for any clues, no matter how small.
Bonnie Bowman Henson
