Deborah, I will try and find out from my uncle in Charleston when the fire was, though he may not know. In any event, he is the only one who would possibly know, but he is in his mid-80's and now in poor health. But I'll do what I can.

Thanks Robert. Good to hear from you again. I would love to know the year of the fire. I cherish the pictures you sent me from Luckland. I still have them.
Thanks Deborah

I haven't looked at (any of) those pictures for several years, but may do so in the coming months. I'll let you know if I find anything additional.
The problem we both face is that the people who knew are all dead or, in the case of my uncle, elderly and in poor health. I'll do what I can.

I'm trying to connect with Deborah. We have many lineage connections and I want to leave as much information as I can for her in the event I do not renew the membership. Deborah, I have a John Walter Smith on my timeline born in 1887. Is this your grandfather that was born on Luckland? If so,my ggrandfather is his brother Oliver. I am looking forward to connecting with you. I sent my email to your inbox. Regards,

Hi Robert,
My Great Grandmother, Leila Harrison Sanders, is thought to have been born at Luckland. She and my grandfather (her son) died when my mother was little, and we have no family stories about her life. I would love to learn more about this side of my family... and it seems you might have some good info for me to start with.
Please let me know if you would be willing to chat and share info.
Thanks so much! Lindsay
