I am researching info on the former plantation known as Leighton. It was located on Bayou Lafourche and was owned by Rt Reverend Leonidas Polk and his wife Francis Devereux Polk, daughter of John Devereux of NC. Interested in any info regarding descendants of the owners and especially the slaves who resided there.
