I'm am a descendent of Benjamin Hamrick (1739-1839). You had posted some time ago, that you had a picture of Elizabeth Emilene Hamrick (1818-1886). The conversation was also about Nancy Todd and Rev. John Hamrick. I would love to have any pictures you might have or any information about the indian bloodline. Both are rare and therefore very precious. Thank you for any help! Deana Hamrick. Personal email is also servantheart12@yahoo.com.

I recommend that you look up all the Weatherfords in the Dawes packets to see what they had to say about being Creek Indians. This might give you a clue as to were you should look.the cards give you the names, the packets give you the history.

That is incorrect. I suggest that you pull up 1832 Creek Census, click on W then click on Autauga. There is only ONE Weatherford in the list: Charles Weatherford.

Perhaps someone transcribed it incorrectly elsewhere and picked up the James next to the Weatherford.

About half way down the list it reads Polly Miles then Edward James then James Weatherford then about 11 or 12 more people.

Louisa E Morris born on the reservation in Oklahoma?

I am stumped. I really would like to find my Choctow roots and am not getting anywhere. My Great Grandmother was Louisa E Morris and born on the reservation in 1875. She died on 5/3/25 in Hill, Tx. I have also seen her name listed at Bettye Morris and Bettye Underwood. My Grandmother, Lillie Belle Underwood was born 6/18/1894 in Texas.
Louisa was married to James R Underwood. I have also seen the name listed as Vanderwood.
According to "family history" Louisa was born on the reservation under an Indian name and didn't use the name Louisa until she left the reservation with her new husband.
Where do I need to look to find the connection? I'm so lost.
I appreciate any help you can provide!

She was born abt 1833 in either Pike Co Al or Pike Co AR. I have no idea who her parents were. She married a Barr (possibly David). My ggreat-grandmother (her daughter) was Martha Agnes Barr. She was referred to as the indian woman by her grandchildren. Other leads I have not been able to prove.
