I have been told that my grandmother had a grandparent who was from the Creek nation. Her parents were Samuel William Penner & Sarah Elizabeth Knight of Arkansas. Her maternal grandfather was James A. Knight (1878-1911)and his mother was Sarah J. (1838-1930). In the 1920 census Sarah E. was living in Sarah J.'s household in Arkansas. A 19 year old young man named Elijah was also in the household. I am not sure if he was Sarah E.'s brother or a cousin. Living on both sides of Sarah J. were Goad families. I know from some cemetery notes of my grandmother's that they are related, but I have not determined how. Does anyone have any informaion on James A. Knight?
