Thanks for setting up this board. It will be much used, I'm sure.
My ancestors were the Spauldings, who moved into Massachusetts in the 1600's. I have my grandmother's copy of The Spalding Memorial, which has given me the line all the way back to the original settler, Edward Spalding (brother to Edmund Spalding, who also came over from Spalding, England). I'm really interested in my great grandfather's escapades in MA, since he appears to have abandoned all but one of his children when his wife died. He took David Dunn and he, David Worthington Spalding, born 1 August 1818 in Worthington, moved to WI to start a new life. He later did just about the same thing when wife #2 died. I'd like to go back to his first wife's era and find out a lot more about where they were, etc. He had married Lovice Merinda Ross, born 12 December 1823 in Peru, MA. They had 5 children, Charles Lemuel, Jedson Worthington, David Dunn, Alice Temperance, and Hattie L. I would like to expand on those children and their home life in MA.
