No one can help you without knowing the name of the brother.

I would suggest posting your query on the SURNAME board for your brother's surname. The USA General board it not appropriate for this type of catch-all query.

Joan, admin
USA General message board

Have you looked for his obituary-that may help. You could also request his social security application, which should list birth place
http://genealogy.about.com/od/online_records/a/ss5_request.h...

If he was born prior to 1940, you can look for him in the census.

If you tell us the city and state where he died, we can give you specific information about where to search for an obit.

Did she have brothers named Samuel, Ernest and Harry Hilton? If so then, the following may be the report of her death.

Trenton New Jersey Evening Times
May 29, 1939
Mrs Ada Hilton Bernhard, wife
of Julius Bernhard, assistant
treasurer of the Princeton Wor-
sted Mill, died yesterday morning
at her home, 38 Hillvista Boule-
vard, following an illness of
six months. She was 43 years old.
A resident of Trenton for the
last 25 years. Mrs Bernhard
came to this city from England
when she was 23. She married
Mr. Bernhard about 15 years ago
and was active in the affairs of the
Trenton Country Club and was
an ardent golf enthusiast.
Besides her husband she is sur-
vived by a daughter, Elaine, 10,
and three brothers, Samuel Hil-
ton, Ernest Hilton and Harry Hil-
ton all of Trenton.
The Funeral will be held from
the Church Home of Ivins & Tay-
lor, 77 Prospect Street, Wednes-
day afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with
services by the Rev. Samuel
Steinmetz of St. Michael's Epis-
copal Church. Burial will be in
Ewining Church Cemetery. Friends
may call tomorrow evening at the
Church Home.

The 1930 census shows the daughter was named "Mathilde E.", likely Mathilde Elaine.

Ada Hilton married Richrd D Sine Jan 2, 1919 per snippet in Trenton Evening Times, Jan 11, 1919 page 4. It appears from research through census, newspapers, etc that he may have been a florist who lived in Lambertville, NJ and then with his brother-inlaw in Bucks county, PA. they must have been separated by 1920 census as she is listed as married but living in rooming house. He is later listed as single in later census. Richard Delaware Sine and he is listed as being from Lambertville. Worth having a look. Not related. Good Luck.

I'm looking for any information about a woman who was born in 1893 in Canada. I know she lived somewhere in Canada and I think she lived in the US at a time. In 1918 she married George S. Richards, and of died in 1929 of stomach cancer. I would really like to know her name and any other information. Thank you.

The Hamburg emigration record for Christian is online at Ancestry.ca (browseable only) and includes his place of birth which I interpret as Andorf. There may also be a Karl (Carl) Vorbeck travelling with him. Perhaps someone else on this board can give a full explanation of what is written on the record.

Hi, Laura,
My friend is Maureen WHITELAW and George McLEAN was her uncle.I did extensive American research for her on Dr McLean and she has extensive research on another uncle, Malcolm, his brother, who stayed in Scotland and she would dearly love to hear from you. I did not retain any of my physical research records but they filled a 4" notebook, as well as a 3" notebook, which I sent on to her. I made sure to document everything I did. Maureen is a professional researcher, and you can get in touch with her at searches@colloquium.co.uk. She has been eager to hear from any American relatives and she will be thrilled. If you contact me by e-mail, if I have anything you might not have, if I sent it by e-mail to Maureen, I still have it in my archived messages. marylindsay1@comcast.net

Hi my name is Laura Bailey. My father is George McLean Bailey, my grandfather is Elijah Roy Bailey and grandmother Nina Gertrude (Woods). I saw your post while doing a search on George McLean and Nancy Large. Wondering who you are and who this friend in Scotland is? I look forward to your reply!

According to Polk's 1967 San Francisco directory:

Polito Paul H143 Somerset St

No wife is listed.

http://archive.org/stream/polkssanfrancisc1967rlpo#page/914/...

It's implied that he owned the house (he wasn't renting -- that would be "R" not "H") so there should be additional records on that.
