I sort of got that one, I was responding off the cuff from old school day knowledge, coming from a Cotton Town – Glossop – they where hot on stuff like that, the cotton famine and alike. But after 30-40 years it pays to check before opening your mouth!

I was mixing it up with Crompton’s original Spinning Mule, and it’s predecessor the Spinning Jenny, they carried on the name Mule as Crompton’s devise was more of a finished article just needed tweaking and enlarging, up dating and so on but I think – there he goes again – the basic principals and processes are the same as his original.

Never was good at names could so easily have called it a Jenney!!
