I am searching for information specifically on my great grandfather Berend Borgers. Berend was born on 14 January 1857 in Ede, Gelderland, Netherlands, united in marriage on 12 November 1881 with Hermina van Beek in Ede. They along with their five children set sail for the United States arriving on 21 October 1892 at Ellis Island, enroute to Alton Iowa. I have information already on Hermina and their five children. It is just Berend I am looking for. After arriving in Ellis Island, there seems to be no records after this about him. I do not know if he possibly died on the way to Alton or shortly after. All I know is that sometime between 21 October 1892 and January 1895 he passed away and Hermina remarried. I have googled, have found nothing here on ancestry except the information I have posted. I am at a dead end so to speak.
