My grandmother was born in 1900 and her father's name was Benito Ortiz. I don't know her mother's first name but her last name was Eudave. I don't know why my grandmother left Mexico, and she refused to talk about it with my father. I didn't know her well and she only spoke Spanish. I only speak English. Maybe your husband's great-grandfather, Ysabel and my great-grandfather are brothers or somehow else related. Right now I need to find out more about my grandmother and her parents before I can expand. Thanks Mary.

Hello Danielle:
Perhaps we can help eachother.
I am (still) looking for information about my husband's Grandmother, Anita Ortiz, born 1/12/1910 in Zacatecas, Mexico and died 1/29/1947, killed by a train in Palo Alto, California. Her niece, Consuelo Aguilar Cortez, remembers that Anita crossed the border at a young age. She married Guillermo Aguilar about 5/8/1926 in Chowchilla, California. Anita's parents were Ysabel Ortiz and Maria Montolla/ Montaya/Montoya both born about 1892.
I hope this helps you, and I would be grateful for any information you can provide to me.
Thank you Danielle!
Mary Aguilar (Massachusetts)

My father's name is German Gonzalez. His father's name is Angel Gonzalez-Rubio (before he became a citizen of the US), and my father's mother's name is Ana Maria Ortiz de Eudave. Both of his parents were born in Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico. My father knows nothing of his family because both of his parents refused to talk about their families. They never visited them either. Please help me with any information you may have. Thanks.

Hello, my motheres maiden name is Menchaca. Her grandfather was Jesus Avina Menchaca born 1903 in Calera (or Jerez), Zacatecas. He had many sisters. I will try to name what I remember: Maria, Urvana, Mauricia, Paula, Juana, etc. etc. Their dad was Juan Menchaca and their mother was Simona Avina (born 1869) to Apolonio Avina and Valentina Munoz. Does any of this sound familiar?

I just found my grandfather's baptismal record at the Family History Center at my local Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints temple. My maternal grandfather was FRANCISCO FLORES, born in Banon, Zacatecas on Feb 15, 1906. The record states that Francisco's parents were MIGUEL FLORES AND MARIA CRUZ GONZALEZ. Francisco's paternal grandparents were J.CRUZ FLORES AND EPITACIA MONTOYA. Francisco's maternal grandparents were HIPOLITO GONZALEZ AND MARIA NIEVES GARCIA. It also stated that the padrinos were Joaquin & Manuela Rodriguez. They must have been very close friends, if not related.
Anyway, on the same page as this record, was another baptism for JAVITA ALVARADO of Chichimequillas, Zacatecas. Javita's parents were J GUADALUPE ALVARADO AND JULIANA ORTIZ. Javita's paternal grandparents were YENON ALVARADO AND CATARINA VAZQUEZ. Javita's maternal grandparents were JUAN ORTIZ AND FARIBIA CRUZ. The madrina was Lorenza ALVARADO. Hope this helps someone!

I would like to know if my grandmother, Juana Menchaca is part of your family. She had lived in Pedras Negras, Mexico and I think her family came from the south from there. Her mother was Cornellia Menchaca. Does this ring a bell?
