Would love to learn more about your line. I'm connected through my great, great grandmother Rebecca Ann Corel McGlothlin who was the sister of Olivia Gillespie Corel McGee the mother of Virdilla McGee Gaumer. Could you email at mfrgky@gmail.com? Thanks so much.

To members of the Gaumer family...I hope you can fill in some information for me. I was so excited to find Dr. George F. Gaumer. My mother's maiden name was Gaumer and she was born and raised in northwestern Kansas. Her grandfather was Walter J. Gaumer.

I have a silk large scarf that was given to my grandfather Wesley Ritter Gaumer. The scarf was given to HIS uncle and the scarf was then given down through the years. According the note left by my grandmother, the scarf was given to Wesley R. Gaumer(my grandfather) by Wesley Gaumer as well. The note refers to the Spanish American War 1898 and the elder Wesley sent it to my great grandmother...oh dear...very confusing.

Bottom line...the interesting part of this whole story is my sister and my son speak Spanish fluently and both have university degrees in the language. No one else in the family ever had any interest of Latin American studies/language, etc. but both of these family members....they seem to have an inherited interest!

Hopefully, someone can help me with these inquiries. I do know that my great grandfather moved to Kansas from Pennsylvania.

Thank you for any information!
