Looking for information from possibly some family memebers of Jose/Joe/Joseph Rodriguez b. 1896 and died in Michigan USA. Mother's name was Mary/Maria Marin b. abt 1874 died in Michigan. Father's name was Ysidro/Isidro Rodriguez. Maria's parents were Orocio Orosio Marin, and Loreto, don't know if that is a first or last name or nick name. The family went from Mexico to San Antonio Texas at some time. If you have anything in your tree that resembles this please contact me.

My great great great grandfather was in that very prison from 1842 to 1844. It is still there and you can find it on Google Earth. Type perote, mexico and it is just north of the town. Several Texas prisoner were held there as a result of continued fighting into south texas after the battle of san jacinto. They refused to honor texas indepence. My great great great grandfather was captured in the battle of San Antonio in Sep 11, 1842 and they walked him from San Antonio to the Perote Prison. Waddy Thompson from South Caroline negotiated their release in March 1844 back to New Orleans then Glaveston, where they walked back to San Antonio. I had a great great uncla named on a census record Waddy T Brown. Ed Brown first child in honor of the man that got them out of that hell hole. In reading it was not a easy stay and they were abused beaten and some starved to death.
In my reading I foound that prison was in use until 1974. During WWII captured soldiers from italy and germany were brouoght back and held there until the end of WWII. So I am geussing he did not choose Mexico it was chosen for him.

sms Novara passengerlist expedition 1857–1859

Have anyone found a list of passengers and crew for the SMS Novara initial expedition(1857-1859)? Looking for an ancestor with the name Pietro Antonio (lastname Palestro but that is possibly taken or issued). He would have left the ship at valparaiso, chile. I´m not sure they carried passengers at this voyage so it´s a shot in the dark. He was a Musician from Italy. Don´t know if it would be possible for an Italian to be on this ship at that time due to the war but since it was a scientific expedition it might be possible.

His name was not Basil but Basilio. His son Manuel Llorente was born, or lived, in Veracruz, but later moved to Chihuahua, where he married Concepción Lujan Colomo and had several children, among them José Llorente Luján, Ana María Llorente Luján, Rita Llorente Luján and Concepción Llorente Luján, who was my grand mother. She married Gabriel Servín Arias-Caballero, my grand-father. They had two children, Enrique Servín Llorente, my father, and Carlos Servín Llorente.

I believe that I've finally found a great grandfather coming into the U.S. from New Orleans, and having left for New Orleans from Veracruz and Tampico. how and where do I find information in Veracruz on him?
he was Charles Wagner, b. 1855-1860, a mariner
I know nothing of his time down in Veracruz, whether it was simply a link in his journey or a home town or anything at all. I've researched very little in Mexico, and don't know the next step to take. someone did mention customs and immigration to me, how do I contact them?

it is now September and I'm finding just next to nothing online, and no responses to queries. any help is appreciated.

I am tracing an Austin Tatham Grave.
Born in Manchester, UK on 22 June 1879.
Married Fannie Hampton 1900 in UK.
Died in Tuxpan, Mexico on 6 June 1915.
Not sure whether it was of natural causes or accident.
At the time he was working for L'Aquila Company, Apatado 150, Tampico, Tamps in Mexico.
Occupations at various times were auctioneer & estate agent, civil engineer and architect.

My great grandmother was ottilia kleibel who was reportedly a young infant
(b. 1862) on the ship with her parents josef kleibel and Therese springer, per old family discussions. Reportedly Josef was an adjutant at the time through the German army. Am attempting to find a passenger list of the novara or a listing of german/ Austrian troops to see if any of these discussions were true for work on the family history. Hello if you have any family trees from the ceniceros family i would love to have a look at them. my great great grand father was a severino ceniceros (but not the general) his wife was josefa alba, their son was vicente, and my grandfather is josue ceniceros, my granfather says that his mom used to be friends with severino (the general). I have heard that we are also desendants of don Juan ceniceros (i believe it is the father of jose ceniceros perez) but we do not know from which of his wifes, as it is reported that he had four I think. anyways if you have any info regarding this it would be greatly appreciated.

Cancino - Odena Families

I am looking for any information anyone may have on my grandfather Vicente Cancino who was born in Vera Cruz in 1886 (passed away in New York in 1969 married to Caridad Perez, originally from Cuba). His parents. we believe were Vicente Cancino and Sabina Odena and we know that two of his siblings were Leocardio Cancino and Isaias Cancino.

Hola tocayo (¿doble tocayo?), soy Jorge Maruri Aguilar y vivo en Querétaro. Qué interesante lo que comentas, concuerda con algunas investigaciones que he hecho por ahí. ¿De qué parte de la república vienen tus Maruri? Tengo idea de algunos que llegaron desde la colonia (Toluca, Morelos), y otros después (1830s al parecer), los míos.

Coatepec es la ciudad donde mi abuela dijo que ella naciera. Su padre fue Antonio Maruri, su madre Clara Guille. Tuvieron varios hijos en la década de 1800.

me llamo Cecilia y vivo en Reynosa,tamaulipas.mi apellido es TOREL por error de dedo, ya que el original es Teurel y tengo familia con el apellido original que es Teurel en Nautla,veracruz.a esa familia la encontro mi bisabuelo ELIAS TEUREL DIAZ hace casí 20 años,pero el murio y ya no pudo llevarnos a conocer esa familia,el radicaba en Cerro Azul,veracruz. las señas que el nos dio de la familia es que su oficio eran de ser pescadores.
el apellido Teurel lo perdimos por que cuando mi bisauelo ELIAS se dio de alta como militar en veracruz,escribieron mal su apellido cambiandolo a TOREL,como ya no lo corrigieron asi empezo a registrar a sus hijos.
bueno de ahy ya la demas familia se quedo con el apellido TOREL.pero mi bisabuelo siempre nos dijo que nuestro apellido es TEUREL y que es de procedencia francesa y que nuestra familia esta en Nautla,veracruz.
de hecho a qui en reynosa somo los unicos TOREL que existen
y de mi bisabuelo ya quedan 2 hijos.

Hola, conocí a tu bisuabuelo Don Friaco, sus últimos años los vivió con su hija mi tía Fernanda, lo recuerdo muy bien en mi infancia, era un señor de barba poblada y larga y tenía un enorme gusto por la lectura, compartió algunos libros con mi padre. Con referencia a nuestro apellido Azuara quiero que sepan que hace unos años a la Cd. de Huejutla trajeron los restos de los Gererales Azuara e invitaron a los familiares más directos para que acompañaran, siempre he tenido la duda sobre el origen de nuestro apellido y fíjense que encontré por ahí que en España existe un lugar llamado Azuara con poca población y es de origen árabe. Con respecto al apellido Sánchez siempre ha existido en mi pueblo la pregunta de su relación directa con el Coronel Rafael Platón Sánchez, es muy probable que exista esta relación, tengo una tía llamada Felipa Sánchez quien vive en la Col. Rivera Méndez, quien es familiar directo del Coronel, pregunten a sus papás o sus abuelitos si la conocen y puede ser una línea de investigación confiable. Saludos a todos!!!!

Looking for the descendants of Maria Olvera. Her husband was Saturnino. They had three sons, two named Joel and the other Florencio or Florentino (unsure). Their other brother (eldest) immigrated to the US and changed his name to Fidencio Garcia Hinojosa. Maria is my grandmother.
Any help is appreciated. I have a picture of my grandmother and uncles if it helps....
