I found one of my ancestors cousin who was an officer in the army of Empreror Maximilian of Mexico 1864 to 1866- Anton von Thelen. I do have an officers list (not only military) I f you tell me the name of your ancestor, I might be able to find it.Another source would be the "Almanaque de la corte" published in 1866, Mexico.
