Hi.
Sad to say, but it is true. I, we, wife and I, did not start learning about our parentage until almost tooo late. We we were lucky, on both sides, as we did have some old folks left and also that our families were well known in the Atascosa County area.
I have two regrets, one is the Solis side, the other is the Hernandez side. I was not raised close to the family, therefore, I did not know too much about them. That is changing.
On the Solis side, my maternal grandmother, Santos, was the daughter of Arcario/Alcadio. She was born in 1902. I was told that her baby brother, Steven, visited "El Soliseño" after WWII, late 40s. He is supposed to have met with family and stayed with them. I never got the chance to talk to him about that. He has since passed on and his family does not know that aspect of his life, so thay are of no help.
I do not have much on ggreatgrandfather, early life, other than after he married here. I know that there are several families in the SA area that are related and have talked to several, but have not unraveled the roots as yet.
If I can help, I will try.
