Surnames: Dophin
They came through Agua Prieta, Sonora, to what is now Douglas, Cochise County, Arizona. we don't know when they arrived, but before the border was established. Sr. Dophin was buried somewhere around Pirtlesville, Cochise County, AZ and Mary V. Dophin his wife, born 1870, died 1945 and was buried in Tombstone Cemetery . Sr. Dophin was much older than his wife, and reported to be from France. The first name of Sr. Dophin is lost, his birthdate and date of death and his grave site undiscovered.

They were said to have come from Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, a long way from Sonora and Arizona.

I would like to know if anyone else is searching for a possible French ancestor, who may have come to Mexico with the French Army.

I can't find a good map, giving distances, and would like to know how far from Mexico City, the town of Dolores Hidalgo is located.

I am searching for the information , for a great, great grandson of the Dophin family

Thank you for the reading and for any help you may give.

Joy

Hi Joy,
I don't know if you will see this, but I am related to the Dolphin family. My grandma was Sue Sanchez. She was Thomas and Mary Golding's daughter. I would like to meet the great great grandson that you are researching this for or any other information you may have.
