Somehow I had not noticed before that your Salazar-Araiza grandfather's father was a Maldonado Araiza. Was your grandmother a Salazar? And was your great-grandmother a Maldonado? It looks like you are using the pattern of naming that my cousin tells me was the way "old Sonoran families" represented their names. That is, with the mother's surname before the father's. This reverses Spanish tradition. But in your case, Araiza was the name that continued on, right?
