searching for info on my g.grandfather, Ramon Ortega from Pitiquito, Sonora. He had three brothers Francisco, Louis, and Luipoldo. Their mother's maiden name was Celaya. Time period would be around 1860-1870's. Thanks Linda

My grandfather was also born in Pitiquito, Sonora. His name was Jose Lizarraga Ortega and I believe his fathers name was Santos Ortega and his mothers name was Anastasia Lizarraga. I have passed by Pitiquito and it is close to Altar, Sonora. Let me know what information you find.

Chona Ortega was married to my Great-Great Uncle Cipriano. Were any of the Ortega's or Quiroz' in the picture? My G-G Grandfather was Francisco Ortega and his daughter Inez was married to Eugenio Quiroz. Maria de Refugio Ortega-Celeya was the sister to Cipriano and Francisco.

thank you

I need to make an enlargement of the picture. There are a lot of people in it and when I scan it, you won't be able to make people out because it will get even more grainy. I need to go back to the Historical Museum and order a bigger pict. As far as who is in the pict.. I know chona is and I think Francisco is. Not sure of the others, but Maria might be in there too. I will check tomorrow and get back to you.

Thanks, I would really appreciate it. I believe I've seen the picture in "The history of Arizona Journal." I believe the oldest man with the long beard is my GG Grandfather Francisco and his wife Dionsia is seated next to him.

The pictures were taken in 1890. There are no Quiroz' in the three pictures I have. The man with the white beard is never seated. The Ortegas in the picture include: Chona, Jose Jesus, Sacramento Ortega de Celaya, Trinidad Ortega de Felix, Ramona Ortega de Pil (?) and Maria.

One picture is of all women, young and old with one older man, Faustino Felix.
The second is with younger men and women with one elder man, Claudio Celaya.
The third is a large group gathering, including a band and a lot of children. The elder couple is Claudio and Sacramento Celaya.

I will try and scan the pictures tomorrow. Do you think this is your Chona and maria? They both appear young. They are about the age of my ggrandmother Sara Felix.
