Hello Luciano,

Thank you for your message. It has been a while since I first posted about the Ezrre family. I will post the information I have for the benefit of those reading this message board. Please let me know if you (or anyone else) has information that contradicts what I am posting here.

I heard the same story from others about the 2 brothers coming from France to Mexico. I believe that the name Ezrré was originally spelled Herré. There is a town with the same name in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. My Great-Grandfather spelled the name "Hezrré" and mentioned that he was part French.

Some time ago I reviewed all the original marriage and baptismal records from Sonora (mostly from Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Sahuaripa). According to the records, the first Ezrré in Mexico was Nicolas Ezrré (born ~1818). He was married to Maria Gertrudis Bringas. I believe Nicolas came from France and arrived before his first son was born in 1838. I don't know if he married Gertrudis in France or after he arrived in Mexico. It appears that the early family members were active in the mining industry.

Nicolas Ezrré and Gertrudis Bringas had at least 4 children:

José Diego Miguel Procopio de Jesús Ezrré (aka Diego Ezrré)
BIRTH 7 JULY 1838 • Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico
DEATH 8 JUN 1905 • Villa de Sahuaripa, Sonora, México

Maria de la Cruz Florencia Teresa de Jesús Ezrré (aka Maria de la Cruz Ezrré)
BIRTH 13 SEPTEMBER 1840 • Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico
DEATH 20 JUL 1921 • Nogales, Sonora, México

José de Jesús Toribio Ezrré (aka Jesús Ezrré)
BIRTH 16 APRIL 1844 • Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico
DEATH Unknown

Maria Felicitas Carolina Ezrré (aka Carolina Ezrré)
BIRTH 15 JULY 1847 • Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico
DEATH Unknown

Nicolas Ezrré had one other natural child with Sista Tarazon:

Maria Guadalupe Ezrré (aka Guadalupe Ezrré)
BIRTH 1845 • Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico
DEATH AFTER 1907

I believe Diego and Jesús are the 2 brothers that people have heard about. Their sister Guadalupe was my 2nd Great-Grandmother.

It would be great to see any pictures you have of these people. I will contact you via private message to get a copy of the pictures.

Thanks,
Steve
