I would appreciate ANY suggestion on how to find information on circus families or circuses in Monterrey, Mexico during the time period of 1896-1914.
My great grandparent's family name is Trevino, possibly Juan and Erlinda Cerrato Trevino. They owned a circus and traveled all of Mexico and parts of Central America. Their home was in Monterrey, Mexico. The only years that I know of would be 1896-1914 when my grandmother (Enedina Trevino) still lived in Mexico before moving and attending college in San Antonio, TX. My grandmother never returned to Mexico.
Any help would be appreciated.

Gracias,
T. Dickson

Hello there, we too have circus owners in our family. Our circus family was Noriega. They were from Monterrey and the surrounding area.
there is a circus museum in San Antonio Texas, ans they have some information on circus,s that were from mexico during the time period that you are asking about.
I don't remember the name of the circus museum, but the chamber of commerce or the tourist information bureau will be able to assist you with this.
happy hunting,

Have you come across a circus member by the name of Dolores Gonzalez who was born in Monterrey Mexico in 1891? Supposedly she joined the circus at a young age.

Hello, sorry, the name does not ring a bell. I will however keep it on file. if I ever run across the name I will make a note of it and let you know.
old circus information from mexico is hard to come by. I am trying to verify a place in mexico where such info may be available.
keep hunting,

Hello, thank you so much for writing. I'm sorry that i may not be able to shed much light on your question.
my mothers uncle was matias arriaga, but he lived and died in texas, near the mexican border. this was her fathers brother.
the circus that they lived with belonged to my grandmothers uncle. he was her fathers brother. his last name was Noriega. and he too lived in Texas near the mexican border.
my mother was born in 1918, and shortly there after they came to live with the circus.
it sounds as if you have an interesting background.
there was a circus museum in San Antonio texas, but has since been closed. they might have been able to give you more information.
I truely am sorry that I am not able to tell you more.
thank you for replying.

Surnames: Mier Miller
Carlos Mier married Harriet Agnes Miller in the Greenwich area of London in late 1920, they divorced in 1933, there were no children born during the marriage.

Carlos died in January 1964 in the Uxbridge/Hillingdon area of London and was cremated and possibly interred in the Breakspear Road Crematorium in Ruislip in that area.

Supposedly his next of kin was his wife Madge, but he only had one marriage in England.

At the time of his death he was aged 79 and was said to have been born in 1885.
