Simon Valle is listed on the 1860 Federal census for Temecula CA along with his wife Ramona Espinosa and daughters Virginia Victoria and Marie. Marie died at around five years of age. Apparently his wife Ramona, other daughter Flavia and sons Manuel, Simon Elastico, died, too. Simon Valle was living on Spring St.in LA and working as a saddlemaker in 1872. ( There was a small pox epidemic at the LA pueblo around that time.)Simon is on the 1880 Fed. census in Nevada living only with Aurellia, Emma, and Virginia and he states he is widowed.
Simon took his daughters Margarita Aurellia and Emma to a convent in Salt Lake City in 1888. Due to business difficulties he left Boise where he jointly owned a saddle making and harness repair shop and went to Mexico City before 1890. A possible nephew, William Valle worked in that shop with him.
Family lore says Simon remarried and had one or more children. Daughters Margarita Aurelia and Emma Pena? married in Mexico also. One of them lived in Veracruz.
