Hello, my great-grandmother's parent's names are Deloros(or Lola) Munos and her father's name was Margarite. I was wondering if anyone would happen to know where to find their parent's names, or any other of their family member's. My great-grandmother is now in her mid-70s and does not know much more besides her parent's names and their birth/death dates. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,
I am looking to see if anyone has any other information regarding the De La O family from Juchitlan, Jalisco. My great grandfathers last name was De La O and my great grandmother was De La Cruz. I’ve seen some posts here already regarding this family and I know some second cousins (seeing as how their grandparent/s are my grandmothers sibling) have already posted. However this was about ten years ago and I’m wondering if any of them, or anyone else who has information regarding my/our great grandparents. Thank you.

My suggestion is to go to familysearch.org, bring up Mexico, then Jalisco. Plug in his name, approximate birthdate, spouse name, and see what comes up. His baptism and/or marriage record should be among the results. Find the original records by looking through familysearch.org's copies of the original Catholic Church records and they should tell you the parents names. You can go on from there.

You will have to learn how to use familysearch if you don't already know. Searching the original recordings by the Catholic church is time consuming but rewarding, if you are serious about your research.

It is a free website and has much information for research in Mexico.

Re: "German Towns" in Jalisco

My great-great-grandfather emigrated from Hamburg, Germany, to Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico by way of South America in the mid-19th century. His name was Heinrich Zeisz, but Hispanicized/translated his given name from Heinrich to Enrique. At some point in time his Mexican-born daughter (my great-grandmother) Hispanicized her surname from Zeisz to Saenz. Although not always the case, it is a common practice for immigrants to translate/change their names to blend more easily into the society in which they make their new home. I have seen the surname "Zimmerman" in many Mexican records. The surname "Zasueta" is, I believe, Basque, not German. Google "German surnames in Jalisco, Mexico" and see what you find. Good luck.

Abran, I found the following information on Camila Aguirre and Genaro Jaimes. Camila and Genaro were married on November 11, 1892, in Jesus Maria Pueblo, Jalisco Mexico. Genaro's birth year 1873, he was 19 at the time of the wedding. Camila was 15 yrs. old when she married Genaro. They were married by the "civil" and the church. Camila's parents names were Joce (spelled with a c not an s)Maria Aguirre and Refugio Garcia. It shows Camila's birth place in Guadalajara. Genaro's birth place is not shown. Genaro's parents names were Francisco e Ysabel Torres. In 1930 Camila and Genaro lived in Pino de Leon, Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico. Here are the names and ages of the people that lived with Camila and Genaro in 1930, Reymundo Jaime,
25, Leonardo Jaime, 18, Damiana Jaime, 26, and Felicitas Jaime, 12. I hope this is the information you are looking for. Please post if it's correct, it would please me to have been able to help you. Good luck.

Hello
My great grandmother, Vicenta Varela Ornelas was born in Arandas, Jalisco in or at least around 1895. At some point, she moved out to I believe Edinburgh, Texas. She got married to my great grandfather Eugenio Diaz Reyna. They had only two children there I believe, Salvador & (my grandmother) Olivia Diaz Varela. The family then moved back to Arandas, Jalisco when my grandmother was a baby. My grandmother later married my grandfather Pedro Garcia Cano who was born & raised in Arandas,Jalisco. My grandfather Pedro Garcia Cano's parents were Feliciano Garcia & Maria Eugenia Cano (who was very young when they got married, around 15).
If anyone has any helpful information or have a connection, it would be deeply appreciated.

Hi Tom,
I recently started doing some research on my maternal grandmother's family. Her father was Teodoro or Teodorio Aguinaga Ramires. From another relative I was told his father's name is Pedro...it's late...maybe Pablo, I'll check soon. Teodorio was born Nov 1858 in Ledesma, Ojuelos, Jalisco MX. zHis mom's name was Bictoriana Ramires. If I've done a good job of researching his parents they are Jose Antonio Aguinaga and Teodora Santellanos (married Nov. 30, 1816) from Cienega de Mat Ojelos, Jalisco, MX.

Do you have any information regarding this leg of the Aguinaga family? So far it looks like I've found about 13 children from that marriage.

I've read some of your old posts and I appreciate your friendliness, thoroughness, and desire to contribute. Oh! More important! My mom had an uncle named Carlos Aguinaga that came to Gonzales County, TX with the family in about 1916 or so. He went back to MX and when they went to look for him they could never find him. My Mom is quite elderly and I would LOVE to find some relatives from that uncle. It broke her mother's heart to lose her older brother. I believe he was born in 1895.
Thanks!
Nancy from Texas
