DeArcos Family in San Miguel, San Julian Jalisco, Mexico
Looking for information or relatives of my great grandfather, Ruperto DeArcos, born 1891 in San Miguel, Jalisco, Mexico. His father’s name was Antonio. Ruperto had a brother Manuel and a couple sisters. One sister was possibly named Leonar. Ruperto married Marcelina Hernandez and lived in San Julian Jalisco. Ruperto immigrated to the USA around 1923. Any information on the family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: DeArcos Family in San Miguel, San Julian Jalisco, Mexico
Phil,
My family is from San Julian, Jalisco. It turns out that near my grandmothers home lives a family by the name Garcia - de Arcos. Presumably the Garcia comes from the dad (Benjamin) and the De Arcos is from the mother's (Ofelia) side. Do these names ring a bell?

Re: DeArcos Family in San Miguel, San Julian Jalisco, Mexico
Hi Pedro,
No. I'm sorry. Those names have not been mentioned in my family. I do know my great grandfather had a brother Manuel DeArcos with children names Pablo, Antonio, Juanita and Leonar. There are also family named Villegas in San Julian that live near Calle Prestiberio Elisondo.
Does this place, or any of those names sound familiar? Do you live in Jalisco?
Thanks for your help. Phil

Letting you know Ruperto ended up in Peoria, IL. He raised his children there and only one child survives. Ruperto and Marcelina are both deceased. They have many grand children remaining in the Peoria area.

My father is one of the grandchildren, born and raised in Peoria. Are you one of their grandchildren? Do you live in the Peoria area and are you close to the remaining child?

Re: DeArcos Family in San Miguel, San Julian Jalisco, Mexico
I am a granddaughter to Ruperto. My father , Ruperto's son passed three weeks ago. This leaves only one child of his living. My aunt Christina Ahten lives in East Peoria. Not very close to the extended part of the family. I only remember my grandpa DeArcos fron when I was a small child. I did get the chance to see the extended part of the family at the funeral. However I do not know much about them. Complicated story. Good luck on your further search.

Hi Shelly, I did not know your father very well. I have not seen him since I was real young. Aunt Christina let us know he passed. I am sorry. I saw Uncle Art and Aunt Christina last Christmas. My sister and I went to visit her to get as much family history as possible. Would you like to continue this conversation directly via email? I know it is a complicated story. We can talk more then. My home email is p.dearcos@comcast.net. Talk to you soon. It is good to meet you. Phil

Re: DeArcos Family in San Miguel, San Julian Jalisco, Mexico
Good to hear you have gotten some info from Aunt Christina. You probably know more about the family than I do. I do get bits and peices every now and then. The family history is quite interesting to me. I'm hoping I don't lose contact completely with the family now that my father has passed. You are welcome to use my personal e-mail address if you wish. Good meeting you too. poohgoben@yahoo.com

Re: DeArcos Family in San Miguel, San Julian Jalisco, Mexico
Hi Frank,
Thanks for writing.
I know a few Jimenez that are related to the DeArcos. My great grandfather was Ruperto. Who do you descend from? Ruperto and the rest of our family lived, or live in Illinois. Did not know there were any DeArcos in Chicago. Do you know which branch from San Julian that you or Pastor DeArco came from?
Phil
