Hello, I am just starting out researching my mother's side of the family. I only know what she and her siblings remember being told by my grandparents, as well as some information from my grandparents' birth records. I am looking for anyone who has (or knows where I can find) information from Arandas, Jalisco.

My grandmother's family lived on the rancho Salto de Nogales in Arandas, Jalisco. Her parents were Antonio Lozano and Maria de Jesus Hernandez. Her grandparents were Pedro Lozano Escandon + Epiphania/Ignacia Torres (handwritten name is difficult to make out), and Lorenzo Hernandez + Amilia Navarro.

My grandfather's family was also from Arandas. His parents were Cristobal Ramirez and Isideria Vasquez. His grandparents were Jesus Nieves Ramirez + Susana Hernandez, and Cornelio Vasquez + Isabel Ortega. There is a family "legend" that Jesus Nieves Ramirez's original surname was Kaliski, but that his parents died so he was adopted by his aunt's family and his name was changed to Ramirez. I don't know how accurate this is, but Kaliski is a strangely Polish name for rural Mexico.

If anyone has information on any of these people, or knowledge of where I can find records from Arandas (without traveling to Mexico myself...) I would be very grateful.
