Tomás Girón Bailón se casó con Hermelinda Jacintos. ellos estuvieron en la Revolución.

Hi my name is nallely. Its so funny that you say your family roman married to an uriostegui. My grandfathers parents names were angel uriostegui and Maria Roman. They had close to almost 11 children I think in petlacala Guerrero. My grandfather was the second to last son and was born in 1930. I hope this serves you as more info.

my great grandma who is still alive was a galeana,maria de jesus to be exact, in her 80s and very strong willed and healthy, i take part in her cuz of my will power, so those are traits to look for we all could be related since this was yearsss ago and if i know mexicans they breed like rabbits lol

My name is Alexis Roman and I have family both on Uriostegui and Roman side. My full name is Alexis Roman Roman and both my parents come from a town near Teloloapan, Guerrero called Oxtotitlan. I'm currently trying to figure out who else from the past I'm connected to. For example my mother is Vianey Roman and my father is called Jose Manuel Roman "El Chaquis". My grandparents are Procopio Roman from Pentlacala and Aulalia Roman de la Paz(mom's side). On my dad's side is Guadalupe Roman and my grandma is Nicolasa Miranda who they had a daughter named Yolanda Roman and married a man with the name of Uriostegui. The best place I know is in the digitized Catholic church records of Mexico. Go to: https://familysearch.org/search/image/index#uri=https%3A%2F%...

Choose the state, then the town, then the parish (if there are more than one). Of course, you have to have a town/date range to look in. It's slow, but a treasure house of records. You can also try searching for individuals using the Familysearch.org site.

Exhausted 1930 Census

Hello fellow Genealogists,
As you know the 1930 Mexican Census was released not too long ago and contains much information but I had found these records long before they were announced. Because I have had these records for sometime now, I have come to a point where I can no longer extract any information from them. I wanted to ask everyone if they know of any other places or links where I or anyone else can find information prior to 1930. Also, does anyone know when the next census records (Prior 1930) will be released? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Good luck with everyone's search.

Carlos Ojeda Espinosa, son of Jesus and Teresa

My great grandfather's name was Carlos Ojeda Espinosa. He was supposedly from Guerrero, Mexico, but married Clemencia Calderon Umana in Costa Rica and lived in Puntarenas. I want to know more about my great grandfather, but since he cut off relations with the rest of the family, no one seems to know much about him or his history. I know his parents names were Jesus Ojeda and Teresa Espinosa. I was also told that he had indigenous blood, and am curious to find out more about this, too. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help. :)

I don't know to much about them. My father is from the area and his cousin who i call tio is Guadalupe Galeana. His mother was Seferina Vargas not sure his fathers name. Seferina Vargas was my grandmothers sister. Let me know if you know anything else.

My aunt was married to a Felipe Catalan and lived in Acapulco before moving to Mexico City. Felipe was related to a man who was the governor of Guerrero (state where Acapulco is in)at the time. I believe my uncle also had a property in a town named Chilpancingo, in Guerrero

Wonder if maybe ther's a connection?

My grandma's maiden last name is Ocampo. Full name is Raquel Lucila Ocampo. She is from El Mogote, Guerrero, Mexico. I'll ask her about family with that last name.

Yo tambien busco a familiares Galeana. Mi bisabuela era de el area de Tecpan Guerrero ( Acapulco) y se llamaba Margarita Galeana . Ella se caso con un mi abuelo , un aleman, que se llamama Juan Conde Curd.

Ellos tuvieron varios hijos-Juan, Eduardo, Consuelo, Concepcion, Pedro y el ultimo Carlos.

Im trying to find my roots as well, i am in fact a Galeana. My dad was born in Guerrero, as well as my grandparents. My grandparents live in Naranjito Guerrero, if its of any help his name is Gabino Galeana, i really wanted to know my roots, perhaps we came from Europe or just from Mexico, if you have any information please let me know.

Hi sorry it took awhile to wrtie back. My grandmother was Maria de jesus vargas and my greanfather was dinocino or dinacio resendiz. Sadly i did not know him he passed before i was born. I am not sure about his father but it is said he was tall fair sknned and blue eyes. They come from a place called rancho nuevo.

I'm looking for information on the Salgado side. My great grandmother was named Victoria Salgado. I believe her mother's last name may have been Navarette. I have very little information except she was born in Guerrero, Mexico during 1897-1903 and that her mother possibly died of gangrene and her siblings were sent to different relatives.

my grandmother's last name was resendiz and she was from guerrero mexico. she recently past away... my great grandmother and great grandfather also passed away not too long ago. all i've heard is that she came from a very knowledgeable father and she actually knew alot about history, which is very uncommon for someone from guerrero to have had so much education. my father's last name is resendiz, but i recently got married so i'm no longer carrying the last name.

Hello, Carlos,

Check my reply on this message board, posted about a month ago. I told much of what I know about the Suastegui/Zuastegui families that I have found. The name is definitely Basque, but has a form that is found almost exclusively in the 'New World'. It derives from Suasti/Zuasti or Sugasti/Zugasti. It became most numerous in the state of Guerrero but the name has also evolved in Mexico City, Sonora, Yucatan, Cuba, Ecuador - and now, with you, in Guatemala. Migration has carried it to other places as well. What city in Guatemala does your family live in? Did your grandfather marry in Guatemala? I will make a note of dates or place names that you can provide and if a connection can be made to other Suastegui families, that would be interesting. I am not too optimistic about finding connections, but if any turn up I would certainly let you know.

Thanks for all the very useful and interesting information. You´ve certainly done some sleuthing. I am still in San Sebastian (Donostia) through this morning and will see about doing some sleuthing at the hall of records and a local Basque store. I´m not sure I will be able to uncover any more than others have through years of research, but we will see how far we get.

FYI, I am one of the Cuban Suastegui´s. I emigrated to the US (California) in 1980 with my father and brother, so 3 Suastegui´s in all.
